Local Municipality Roadway Project
Benson Hwy at Drexel Road Intersection
Scope of Work
Due to high rates of vehicle collisions at the Benson Highway and Drexel Road intersection, Whelcon Contractors worked on the realignment of the intersection. This included the removal of the existing curb and asphalt to eliminate through and left turn movements, which accounted for the majority of the automobile accidents. Whelcon oversaw the placement of new pedestrian signal lights and crossing at both major streets. Work including form setting, finishing, stripping, landscaping, traffic control and pole foundation installment.
