Construction Controller
The Construction Controller position will be responsible for financial management and execution of billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, assisting to refine accounting policies, accurate financial reporting, and to ensure construction billings follow construction contract compliance.
Construction Controller Responsibilities

Construction Project Manager
A Construction Project Manager oversees and is involved in the entire process of a construction project. They will be expected to create and manage a budget, obtain the correct permits to start building, communicate the clients goals to those apart of the project, and coordinate equipment and materials. The Construction Project Manager will be required to be at the job site many days a week to guarantee the project is up to Whelcon Contractors LLC standards and meets the original stated requirements. Construction Project Manager Responsibilities
- Co-operate with Whelcon engineers, architects, and laborers to accurately design the desired project for the client.
- Perform accurate revenue and cost financial forecasting for each project to ensure the goals of our company are reached and profitability levels meet or exceed expected margins.
- Predict materials and resources for expected project whilst staying within the desired budget.
- Provide appropriate direction and assistance over contracts and sub contracts.

Engineer 1
An Engineer 1 displays quality-driven operational leadership to coordinate and communicate between various construction projects and on-site employees. One will be responsible for project management, quality standards, material application, equipment utilization, communication with inspection authorities, producing biddable contract plans, specifications, and estimates.
Project Engineer Responsibilities
- Successful completion of projects by executing all tasks efficiently. Assist with job controls to ensure compliance with contract, budget, schedule, forecasting and job costing.
- Ensure project feasibility through interpretation of design and drawings to include structural integrity, design practicality, and installation of materials.
- Inspect, supervise, and control construction daily for overall site safety, permit condition compliance, and coordination with agencies.

Concrete Finisher & Formsetters prepare and frames for concrete pours, smooth and finish freshly poured concrete, and apply proper cures to harden the concrete. Quality and consistency is an essential skill of a Concrete Finisher. Daily working hours are variable and weather dependent, generally working when the temperatures promote a finished product of highest quality. As with all careers in the construction industry, safety is a top priority for this position.
Concrete Finisher Responsibilities
- Levels and finishes the top surface of freshly poured concrete on pads, floors, sidewalks, or walls.

A Heavy Machine Operator controls all heavy machinery on a construction site to perform safe and quality work.
Heavy Machine Operator Responsibilities

Structural Concrete Carpenter
Structural Concrete Carpenter frames, installs, and repairs structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard, using carpenter’s hand tools and power tools.
Structural Concrete Carpenter Responsibilities
- Erects catch basins, curbs, gutters, footings, and equipment bases.
- Uses hand and power tools to lay out, cut, fit, and join rough and finish lumber to construct, or repair wooden structures.
- Determines correct elevations from plans and established reference points.
- Builds metal concrete forms for foundations.
- Assist with set up of precast concrete structures.

Cuts, fits, and joins fiberboard, plywood, composition board, and particle board.
- Places reinforcing steel and pours concrete.

Fits heavy piling caps, joists, stringers, and decking.

Builds retaining walls.

Assembles wood and metal scaffolding.

Sharpens hand and power saws and other woodworking tool cutting edges.
- Reads, interprets, and work from plans, sketches, drawings, and blueprints.
Qualification
- 2+ Years of experience in a similar position.
- A valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
- The ability to accomplish tasks with minimal supervision.
- Able to operate hand tools, power tools, and other machinery.

Our internship program offers college students studying civil engineering, architecture, business management, or business administration an opportunity to work along side an experienced project manager. As an intern, you will provide assistance on real life projects and have an exciting opportunity to strengthen skills.
